In a memorable inaugural season with the Metros de Santiago, Juan Guerrero has been crowned the “Most Valuable Player” (MVP) of the 2025 tournament of the Super League of the National Basketball League (LNB). His exceptional performance catapulted him to the top of the scorers during the regular season, securing this prestigious recognition. Guerrero participated in all 14 games of the season with the Metros, showcasing outstanding averages. He scored 22.2 points per game, ranking as the fourth-best rebounder with 8.7 rebounds per game. His shooting efficiency was crucial, with a 56.4% success rate on field goals and an impressive 74.1% from the free-throw line. Additionally, he contributed 2.2 assists and 1.0 steals per game. The player, originally from Los Guaricanos, obtained 25 of the 50 possible votes, leading the Metros to a three-way tie for first place with an 8-6 record. This achievement marks a milestone for the franchise, with Guerrero being the first Metros player to obtain this award since Robert Glenn achieved it in 2016. In the voting, Sydney Curry, from the Marineros de Puerto Plata, obtained second place. Curry averaged 19.2 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists, receiving 17 votes. Other players considered were Luismal Ferreiras (Indios, 4 votes), Richard Bautista (Titanes, 3 votes), and Trahson Burrell (Leones, 1 vote). The selection process involved the participation of sports journalists, members of the broadcast team, and press officers from each LNB team. With Guerrero’s award, the winners of the individual awards of the 2025 championship were defined, including:
