The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) has taken a significant step in promoting school sports and student recreation. Recently, a simultaneous delivery of sports equipment was carried out in multiple educational centers throughout the country, marking the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year with a firm commitment to student well-being. This initiative, which encompassed schools and high schools in various regions, seeks to ensure that students have access to the resources necessary for sports practice. The action impacted thousands of students in more than a hundred educational institutions, demonstrating the importance given to sport as a tool for integral development.
INEFI Strengthens School Sports at the National Level
Alberto Rodríguez, executive director of INEFI, led one of the deliveries at the Juan Pablo Duarte High School, in the National District. Rodríguez highlighted that this delivery is part of the plan to strengthen school sports, a governmental priority that seeks to provide each student, regardless of their location, with the necessary tools for an active and healthy life.Former Major League player Nelson Cruz also joined this initiative, making deliveries to ten schools in the province of Monte Cristi, reinforcing the message of support for sports and education.“With this action, we reaffirm that school sports are a priority of President Luis Abinader’s government. We want every student, regardless of the region in which they live, to have access to the equipment and material necessary to practice sports, because that means health, integration, and better development opportunities”.
