INEFI Inaugurates Psychomotricity Classroom in Jarabacoa
The Ministry of Education (MINERD), through the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI), continues to promote the comprehensive development of students. Recently, the fourth psychomotor classroom was inaugurated at the Susana Josefina Quezada Educational Center, located in the municipality of Jarabacoa.
This initiative seeks to provide a space designed to foster essential skills in students. The main objective is to stimulate motor development, coordination, balance, and body expression.
“With this psychomotor classroom, we have a great goal, to create an adequate and stimulating space that favors the development of motor skills, coordination, balance, and body expression of the students,” highlighted the executive director of INEFI, Alberto Rodríguez Mella.

These classrooms are specially designed for the initial and preschool education stage, promoting the cognitive, emotional, and social development of boys and girls.
The project director is the physical education teacher, Jacobo Moquete Guzmán, who, along with the INEFI team, seeks to contribute to the well-being and meaningful learning of infants from their earliest years of life.
In addition to the one inaugurated in Jarabacoa, INEFI has implemented psychomotor skills classrooms at the Yluminada Mejia Basic School, in Cristo Rey; in San Cristóbal, and at the General Antonio Duvergé School, in Honduras, of the National District.
During the event, María Elizabeth Rosario and Mariel Olivo presented a recognition plaque to Rodríguez Mella for his management.
Franklin Duval, Deputy General Director of INEFI; Kenya Valdez, director of the educational center; William Sepúlveda, representative of the mayor of Jarabacoa, Joselito Abreu; Margaret López, technician of Regional 06; Ángel de Jesús Durán, advisor of regional 06; and Mauricio Hernández, president of the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) in the demarcation, among others, were present at the event.
