INEFI and SNS Ensure Medical Coverage for the 2025 National School Sports Games

Santo Domingo – The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) and the National Health Service (SNS) have formalized a crucial agreement to guarantee the health of the participants in the XI National School Sports Games San Francisco 2025. This agreement, signed this Monday, ensures medical coverage during the sporting event, scheduled from September 28 to October 12 in the “City of Jaya”, with sub-venues in La Vega, Salcedo and Nagua. The signing ceremony took place at the SNS headquarters, where both institutions pledged to provide timely medical attention to accredited personnel at the sporting event.

“With this agreement, we designate the SNS as the official provider of hospital medical services, through a network of public hospitals in all provinces and cities where the sports activities of the San Francisco 2025 School Games will take place,” explained the executive director of INEFI, Alberto Rodríguez Mella.

Rodríguez Mella emphasized the importance of this agreement for the protection of athletes:

“For us, the most important thing is to preserve the health of all the athletes who will participate in these Games, that’s why we are signing this agreement.”

The director of the SNS, doctor Mario Lama, announced that the San Vicente de Paúl Regional University Hospital, in San Francisco de Macorís, will serve as a reference hospital center for the care of athletes and accredited personnel during the event. In addition, the Doctor Luis Manuel Morillo King Regional University Hospital in La Vega, and the Doctor Pascasio Toribio Piantini Provincial Hospital in Salcedo, prepared to attend to cases of care and sports traumatology, will be integrated into the assistance network. In each center, a medical coordinator will be designated and rooms will be reserved according to the required specialties. Two mobile dental care units and a team of specialized doctors will be incorporated to work in the polyclinic of the headquarters and sub-headquarters, according to the needs of the medical services of the event.
