Son of journalist Juan Bautista Díaz Cuevas and professor Martha Mattews, Hansel Omar developed a notable career in sports journalism. His work spanned various media, from print to radio and digital platforms.

Hansel’s remains will be exposed this Sunday starting at 11:00 a.m. in the Rubí Chapel of the GRESEFU Funeral Home, located on Las Américas Avenue, Ozama extension. The burial is scheduled for this Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Jardín Memorial Cemetery. Díaz Mattews leaves his daughters Naslhy (12) and Hanny (9) orphaned. His colleagues remember him as a promise of sports journalism, highlighting his dedication and charisma.
