SANTO DOMINGO – The Gigantes del Cibao defeated the Tigres del Licey 4-2 this Friday at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium, breaking the tie that both teams maintained in the standings of the autumn-winter tournament. Luis García was key in the offensive, driving in two runs, while Samad Taylor touched home plate three times, contributing significantly to the Giants’ victory. With this result, the Giants advance to a 16-19 record, consolidating in fourth place in the standings. For their part, the Licey descends to fifth place with a record of 15-20. The Giants’ pitching was fundamental, limiting the Tigers’ offense to only three hits during the game.

A double by Francisco Mejía and a single by Cal Stevenson reduced the difference to 2-1. A sacrifice fly by Armando Álvarez tied the score 2-2.
