García “Rookie of the Year” and Suero “Sixth Man” in the LNB 2025

Santo Domingo – The National Basketball League (LNB) has recognized two outstanding figures of the 2025 season, awarding Andersson García and Eusebio Suero for their outstanding performance.

Anderson Garcia, Rookie of the Year

Andersson García, player for the Puerto Plata Mariners, was named “Rookie of the Year”. In his debut season, García demonstrated his worth at both ends of the court. In eight games, he averaged an impressive 15.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.0 blocks. His field goal percentage reached 58.6%, and from the free throw line, a solid 75.4%. The young player received widespread support, with 45 of the 50 voting journalists recognizing his talent, surpassing Jordan Gerónimo of the Santiago Metros.

Eusebio Suero, Sixth Man of the Year

Eusebio Suero, from Cañeros del Este, took home the “Sixth Man of the Year” award. His impact off the bench was crucial for his team. In 12 games, Suero averaged 13.8 points per game, in addition to 4.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists. His shooting percentages were notable: 44% from the field, 40% from three-pointers, and 74.2% from free throws.

His offensive consistency secured him 32 votes, surpassing Dimas Carrasco (Soles del Este) and Brayan Saviñón (Leones de Santo Domingo).

Both players were selected for the 2025 All-Star Game, although García could not participate due to an injury. The voting was conducted by sports journalists, team press staff, and tournament broadcast staff members. The LNB will announce the winner of the “Defensive Player of the Year” award this Wednesday, with Richard Bautista (Titanes), Luis Rodríguez (Indios) and Jaison Valdez (Leones) as finalists.
