Fedombal Separates Jassel Pérez from the National Basketball Team
SANTO DOMINGO – The Dominican Basketball Federation (Fedombal) announced this Tuesday the separation of the player Jassel Pérez from the men’s national basketball team. The decision was made after evaluating his recent behavior and actions.
According to a press release issued by Fedombal, Pérez’s exclusion is due to acts of indiscipline. The player was absent from training last Sunday, the day before the match against Mexico.
The federation emphasized that this type of behavior is unacceptable and does not correspond to a player representing the national team. Fedombal considers that Pérez’s action is a lack of respect towards the institution, the country, the coaching staff, the management, and his teammates.
The match against Mexico was part of the First Qualifying Window for the 2027 Qatar World Cup.
The Dominican public showed up at the Ricardo Gioriber Arias Volleyball Palace, in the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, to support the team.
