Dominican Republic to Shine at the Beach Volleyball World Championship!
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic – The Dominican duo of Yari Cleto and Julibeth Payano has secured their place in the Beach Volleyball World Championship, which will be held in Australia in November. An extraordinary achievement for Dominican sports! Cleto and Payano demonstrated their superiority on the court of Los Corales, defeating the representatives of Nicaragua, Socorro López and Lolette Rodríguez, with a resounding score of two sets to zero (21-13, 21-11). Dominican athletes secured their spot in the World Championship after an impeccable performance, winning their three matches in the qualifying tournament, which brought together the 12 best duos in the ranking of the North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA).For Julibeth Payano, this will be her third participation in a world championship, while Yari Cleto will experience it for the first time. A historic moment for both!We achieved our first goal, which was to secure one of the tickets to the Beach Volleyball World Cup. Thank God we have been victorious, especially here in our country and in front of our people.

The ninth edition of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit Classic will take place from the 26th to the 28th of this month at Los Corales beach, the same venue as the qualifier. The event was supported by the mayor of Verón Punta Cana, Ramón Ramírez (Manolito), and Industria San Miguel del Caribe, among others. Among the participating countries are the United States, Virgin Islands, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic. The event is organized by the Dominican Sports Tourism Foundation, Marketing Sport Event, with the support of the NORCECA confederation, Verón City Hall and ASOLESTE.This is a great achievement for beach volleyball in the Dominican Republic, I believe that our authorities should focus on everything that is positive in our discipline. In this event, the top 12 pairs in the ranking are playing and our country already has a place in the Beach World Championship, this is a sign of the work that is being done.
