Dominican Women Shine in NORCECA Beach Volleyball Qualifier in Punta Cana
Punta Cana – Dominican outstanding athletes Yari Cleto and Julibeth Payano won this Friday in the NORCECA beach volleyball qualifier, an event taking place in this city. Cleto and Payano demonstrated their dominance from the start, securing their first victory with a resounding two sets to zero (21-7, 21-10) against the representatives of the Cayman Islands, Deajra Tulloch and Amanda Robinson. This tournament is crucial, as it grants tickets to the World Championship to be held in Australia in November. In their second match of the day, the Dominican Republic team maintained their excellent performance, defeating the Salvadoran players Fernanda Argueta and Keiry Guzmán, also with a score of two sets to zero (21-9, 21-10).The event takes place at Los Corales beach. After this qualifier, the ninth edition of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit Classic will take place, scheduled from the 26th to the 28th of this month at the same Los Corales beach venue. Among the participating countries are the United States, Virgin Islands, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Cayman Islands, Cuba, and Dominican Republic.“Despite the inclement weather, we were able to dominate our two matches of the first day of this qualifier. The goal is to be able to reach the World Cup and improve our ranking,” expressed Payano and Cleto, reflecting their satisfaction with the results obtained.
