Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Triumph at the Punta Cana International Baseball Tournament

Punta Cana – The excitement of baseball took over Punta Cana with the start of the José Dijols Muñoz (JDM) International Tournament, dedicated to Samuel Pereyra, executive president of Banco de Reservas. Teams from the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the United States started their participation in the tournament on the right foot. In the U12 category, The Shark (RD) team won with a score of 4-1 against The Dreamers (Bonaire). In the U14, the United States demonstrated its power by defeating The Shark with a resounding 7-1. For their part, American Congress (PR) achieved a 4-0 victory over South Charlotte (USA). In the continuation of the tournament, Academia Banana (RD) dominated the U16 category, defeating Lancheros de Puerto Rico by knockout 15-0. The tournament, which brings together 64 teams, will extend until next Friday. The event includes teams from the United States (Miami, Texas, Orlando), Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Mexico, Aruba, Bonaire, Vancouver, Canada, as well as the host teams from the Dominican Republic. Among the participating teams are La Javilla, Los Robles, The Sharks Of Punta Cana, Banana, among others. The Organizing Committee, led by José Dijols and advised by former baseball player Junior Noboa, executive director of the National Baseball Commissioner’s Office (DCNB), is preparing an awards ceremony to recognize the outstanding teams.
