Santo Domingo. Joy, pride, and emotion overflowed at the Las Américas International Airport (AILA) this day, upon receiving the young athletes who conquered the Cartagena Baseball Festival 2025. Amidst applause, Dominican flags, tears of emotion, and shouts of jubilation, family members, sports leaders, and representatives of Pony Dominicana Baseball welcomed the champions of the 7/8 years old (8U) and 11/12 years old (12U) categories.

An Expected Triumph

From early on, the air terminal became a meeting point to celebrate the return of the heroes who raised the name of the Dominican Republic in Colombia. The teams, made up of children aged 7 and 8, as well as 11 and 12 years old, demonstrated their talent and dedication on the playing field, winning in both categories.

Sports authorities also joined the celebration, recognizing the teams’ achievement. “Greetings, greetings more than happy to receive these teams that participated in Colombia in this baseball festival and managed to bring the crown in the two categories they participated in,” the leaders expressed upon receiving the champions. Eugenio Báez, president of Pony Dominicana Baseball, called the moment unforgettable. “This is unforgettable for each of us, but above all for those children who, with their heads held high, arrive with their trophy, which rewards the effort and dedication they gave on the playing field during these days that represented us at the Cartagena Baseball Festival,” he affirmed. The arrival of the champions has become a true sporting celebration, a reflection of family support, leadership work, and the talent that continues to position the Dominican Republic as a baseball powerhouse from the formative categories.
