Colapinto surprises in Zandvoort: Ninth in FP2 of the Dutch F1 GP

Zandvoort, Netherlands – Excitement erupted at the Dutch Grand Prix, where Franco Colapinto, an Alpine driver, captured everyone’s attention with an outstanding performance. The inaugural day was full of action, with incidents, red flags, and climate changes that kept the fans on the edge of their seats.

Colapinto: A Prominent Argentinian

Argentinian Franco Colapinto completed a total of 52 laps between the two free practice sessions, leaving a significant mark on the circuit. His performance in FP2 was particularly notable, securing ninth place and marking his best result in practice since his arrival in Formula 1.

In the first free practice session (FP1), Colapinto recorded a time of 1:12.276, placing 18th, just 0.663 seconds behind his teammate, Pierre Gasly. Colapinto’s improvement was evident in the second practice (FP2), where he set a time of 1:10.957. This performance placed him 1.067 seconds behind the leader, Lando Norris, and ahead of Gasly by 1.165 seconds.

Lando Norris Tops the Table

Lando Norris was the fastest of the day, with a time of 1:09.890. Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) and Oscar Piastri (McLaren) also showed a great level, finishing very close to the leader.

Marked Incidents in the Day

The day was marked by several incidents, including serious accidents involving Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Lance Stroll, as well as mistakes by drivers like Alex Albon and Lewis Hamilton. The action will continue on Saturday, August 30th with the third free practice. Qualifying, which will define the starting grid for Sunday’s race, will be held at 10:00 a.m. and is scheduled for 72 laps.
