Junior Caminero Shines in Rays’ Rout of Astros
The Dominican Junior Caminero had a stellar night this Thursday, leading the Tampa Bay Rays to a resounding 13-3 victory over the Houston Astros at Daikin Park. Caminero had an outstanding performance, batting 6-3, including a home run, a double, two runs scored, and six RBIs, solidifying his key role in the team’s recent performance.The Rays, although they saw the Astros tie the game after a few innings, responded with a massive attack in the seventh inning, led by Caminero.
Tampa Bay’s offense showed its power. Josh Lowe singled, Brandon Lowe extended his hitting streak, Yandy Díaz drove in runs, and Jonathan Aranda hit a run-scoring double. The highlight came with Caminero’s three-run homer, connecting on a 91.9 mph fastball.The young infielder, who now has 11 home runs on the season, is in great form, accumulating nine hits and six extra-base hits in his last seven games.
With this victory, the Rays have won eight of their last nine games, and 10 of the last 14, leaving their record at 29-27, their best mark since April 4.
