Junior Caminero and Jonathan Aranda Power Rays to Victory with Home Runs

ST. PETERSBURG – Dominican Junior Caminero proved his worth once again, connecting a spectacular home run that led the Tampa Bay Rays to a 6-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins at Tropicana Field.

Caminero, considered one of baseball’s prospects, hit a high fastball in the first inning, sending the ball 450 feet to center field with an exit velocity of 111 mph. This hit represented the longest of his young career in the Major Leagues and was his seventh home run of the season.

The Rays’ offensive didn’t stop there. Jonathan Aranda also had a standout night, hitting two home runs, the first multiple of his career. Both players led a display of power that proved uncommon for the franchise.

This event marked the first time since 2021 that two Rays players managed to hit multiple home runs in the same game. Furthermore, it’s only the second time in Tropicana Field history that a similar situation has occurred.

Starting pitcher Drew Rasmussen also delivered a solid performance, working through six innings in which he allowed only one run, with five hits and six strikeouts. Rasmussen demonstrated his ability to get out of difficult situations, relying on his repertoire and timely defense.

With this victory, Tampa Bay leveraged its offensive power to prevail with authority. The night was marked by young talent, with Caminero leading the way, stealing the show.
