Bryan de la Cruz, LIDOM MVP of 2025-2026
The outfielder Bryan de la Cruz, from the Toros del Este, has been recognized as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2025-2026 championship of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM).
The choice, announced during the Palco LIDOM program, was based on a weighted vote by a jury of specialized communicators. The tournament was dedicated to Don Juan Marichal and was played in option to the Banreservas Cup.
De la Cruz dominated the voting with 431 points, the result of 57 first-place votes. He surpassed Gilberto Celestino, his teammate, who obtained 206 points, and Raymel Tapia of the Estrellas Orientales, with 149.

De la Cruz had an outstanding performance during the regular season, being key in the offense of the Toros del Este, who finished in second position with a record of 27-22.
In 44 games, De la Cruz recorded a .301 average, with 49 hits, including eight home runs, nine doubles, and a triple. He led the tournament in RBIs (40), scored 29 runs, and accumulated 84 total bases. His offensive line was .372 on-base percentage, .515 slugging percentage, and .887 OPS.
This recognition is added to that of Aaron Sánchez, De la Cruz’s teammate, who was announced as Pitcher of the Year.
The jury was composed of communicators from various regions of the country and abroad, including journalists with no employment ties to the franchises, members of press departments of the teams, Dominican reporters based in the United States, and international communicators established in the Dominican Republic.
