Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – The Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, received David Ortiz, Hall of Fame inductee of Cooperstown, along with executives from Perfect Game, a leading platform in the evaluation and exhibition of baseball prospects.

The meeting marked a significant step for the expansion of Perfect Game in the country.

Minister Cruz expressed his gratitude to Perfect Game for its interest in the Dominican Republic.

“Without a doubt, this is a very important contribution to the country’s baseball industry. I can already tell you that you can count on our support from the Ministry of Sports,” stated engineer Cruz.

Perfect Game, which operates in 41 U.S. states and in countries such as Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Nicaragua, Curaçao, and South Africa, is now seeking to establish itself in Dominican territory.

Minister Cruz plans to inform President Luis Abinader about the fruitful conversation to formalize and facilitate the arrival of Perfect Game to the country.

“Our country, precisely, is eager for these opportunities and for this internationally certified platform, so that our children, our youth, and the sporting talent of the Dominican Republic continue to be elevated and projected,” he emphasized.

David Ortiz, who joins the institution as an image, thanked Minister Cruz for his welcome.

Ortiz highlighted the opportunity to collaborate in the planning and organization of youth baseball events, following the model of high-quality events that Perfect Game carries out in other parts of the world.

“Big Papi” highlighted that this initiative will contribute to improving the image of Dominican baseball.

Perfect Game has plans to build a facility with eight stadiums, which would boost sports development, tourism, and job creation.

Perfect Game has over two million registered players in the United States and organizes over 12,000 events annually.

The exhibitions will be designed to offer a safe and competitive environment, providing players and their families with a space to develop their skills.

The executives of Perfect Game were present at the meeting: Rob Ponger, Alex Tutt, Mackenzie Tole, and Rick Truman.
