Benzema Signs for Al-Hilal: French Star Strengthens Saudi Leader Until 2027

Santo Domingo – Karim Benzema, the renowned French striker, has been involved in one of the most resounding transfers of the football season by joining Al-Hilal, current leader of the Saudi Pro League. The official announcement was made by the club this Monday, marking the beginning of a new stage for the winner of the 2022 Ballon d’Or. The contractual agreement extends until June 2027, with a duration of one and a half years. This decision comes after the end of Benzema’s link with Al Ittihad, where an agreement for his renewal was not reached. Benzema, aged 38, arrived in Saudi Arabia in 2023 from Real Madrid. His time at Al Ittihad included two and a half seasons in Jeddah.

During his time with Ittihad, Benzema contributed to winning the league title and the national cup in the 2024–25 season. This signing materializes in the middle of the winter market of the Saudi league, which represents a strategic move in the fight for the domestic title, where Al-Hilal seeks to consolidate its leadership position.
