Banreservas Re-inaugurates Mixed Court in Villa Consuelo: Boost to Dominican Sports

Santo Domingo – The Banco de Reservas de la República Dominicana (Banreservas) has formally delivered the remodeled mixed sports court of Villa Consuelo, located in the National District. This initiative is part of its social responsibility programs, seeking to promote healthy recreation for the youth and families of this important capital area. Manuel Guerrero, Vice President of Engineering at Banreservas, representing Dr. Leonardo Aguilera, Executive President of the entity, highlighted the relevance of this sports renovation. He emphasized that it represents significant support for sports in Villa Consuelo, a neighborhood with a distinguished tradition and history in various disciplines.

From this court will emerge, through their talent, discipline, and determination, professional basketball figures of the caliber of Vinicio Muñoz, Tepo Tapia, Joel Ramírez, as well as the Fortuna and Beltré brothers, electrifying players of local basketball and the National Team.

Guerrero emphasized that supporting sports is an integral part of the vision of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, to promote the comprehensive and healthy development of Dominican youth, offering opportunities that contribute to a better future for them and their families. For his part, the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, praised Banreservas’ initiatives for the benefit of youth and communities, recognizing the importance of having adequate spaces for sports practice. The mixed court of Villa Consuelo, a place where basketball and volleyball are practiced, joins a series of sports projects that Banreservas is carrying out nationwide. This time, the remodeling responds to a request from the community, which longed for a worthy space for sports and recreation. On behalf of the athletes, Esmerlin Mateo expressed his gratitude to Banreservas for the remodeling of the court, describing it as a work highly anticipated by athletes and residents of the sector. The remodeling work included the renovation of the concrete pavement, the construction of a vehicle access ramp with a sliding gate, the adaptation of stairs and planters, the construction of sidewalks, general painting, the installation of new backboards, volleyball poles and net, and the implementation of a modern lighting system. Garibaldi Bautista, president of the Dominican Olympic Committee, legislative authorities, leaders of sports federations, Banreservas executives, and sports reporters attended the event, who highlighted the positive impact of this work for the community of Villa Consuelo.
