Wells was instrumental in the Dominican team’s resounding victory, which advanced authoritatively to the semifinals of the tournament after defeating South Korea 10-0 by knockout, ensuring their return to this instance for the first time since 2013. The catcher starred in the key moment of the game by hitting a three-run home run, a hit that extended the Dominican lead and secured the victory by the mercy rule. The Dominican offensive demonstrated its production capacity, dominating the game from start to finish against the Asian team. With this victory, the Dominican Republic maintains its dominant pace in the championship, after finishing undefeated in the group stage and continuing its solid performance in the direct elimination round.
