HOUSTON, Texas – The Houston Astros have reached an agreement with talented Mexican infielder Isaac Paredes for the 2026 season, thus avoiding the salary arbitration process. The news was confirmed this Tuesday by the club’s general manager, Dana Brown. The pact includes an option for the 2027 campaign.

Paredes, in his second year of arbitration eligibility, maintains the possibility of becoming a free agent at the end of the 2027 season, according to established regulations.

The 26-year-old player arrives after a standout 2025 season, where he was selected for the All-Star Game. His performance included a .254 batting average, with 20 home runs, 53 RBIs, 53 runs scored, and an OPS of .809 in 102 games with the Texan team.

Paredes has shown remarkable offensive consistency in recent seasons, connecting 20 or more home runs in three of the last four campaigns. In addition, he has been consecutively called to the Mid-Season Classic in 2024 and 2025, establishing himself as a fundamental piece in Houston’s infield.
