Thymen Arensman wins stage 14 of the Tour de France, Pogacar maintains the lead

Dutch cyclist Thymen Arensman, from the Ineos team, won the fourteenth stage of the Tour de France, which culminated at the Superbagnères ski resort. This victory represents his first triumph in the prestigious cycling competition. Arensman, who had already proven his worth in the Vuelta a España, joined the breakaway of the day and launched a solo attack during the ascent of the Peyresourde, the penultimate summit of the route. He managed to maintain his lead to the finish line in Superbagnères.

Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, who crossed the finish line in second place, retains the coveted yellow jersey. Pogacar responded to the attack by Dane Jonas Vingegaard in the last four kilometers and managed to gain a four-second advantage. In the general classification, Pogacar leads Vingegaard by 4 minutes and 13 seconds. German Florian Lipowitz, who finished fifth in the stage, is third overall, 7 minutes and 53 seconds behind the leader, after the withdrawal of Belgian Remco Evenepoel. Carlos Rodríguez, Spanish representative, was the first from his country to cross the finish line, placing in eleventh position. Rodríguez also stands out as the best Spaniard in the general classification, occupying tenth place.
