Ancelotti and Scolari: A Meeting of Legends in Teresópolis

Teresópolis, Brazil – The coach of the Brazilian national team, Carlo Ancelotti, and the 2002 world champion, Luiz Felipe Scolari, shared a special moment on the training ground this Thursday. The meeting took place during the second practice session of the Canarinha, preparing for Sunday’s friendly against Panama.
The presence of Scolari, who led Brazil in the World Cup in Korea and Japan, was a surprise to everyone. The meeting took place in the town of Teresópolis, where the team has been concentrated since Wednesday. Ancelotti, wearing the Brazil uniform and a yellow cap, chatted animatedly with Scolari. Both exchanged impressions a few meters from the players, who were doing warm-up exercises and a small-sided game. The training session took place at Granja Comary, the high-performance center of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). Neymar, due to a muscle injury, did not participate in the practice. The national team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, reported that Neymar suffers a grade II injury in his right calf, which will keep him off the field for two to three weeks.
The Brazilian star will miss the friendlies against Panama and Egypt. In addition, his participation in the Group C debut against Morocco, on June 13 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, is uncertain. On the other hand, Danilo, Flamengo defender, returned to training with the team after being in the gym on Wednesday with Neymar. In Teresópolis, 23 of the 26 players called up by Ancelotti are already concentrated. Marquinhos, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhães, who will play the Champions League final with Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, have not yet joined.
