Alcaraz immortalizes his triumph in Australia with a new tattoo
Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz has added a new tattoo to his collection, celebrating his recent victory at the Australian Open. During his stay in California for the Indian Wells Masters 1,000, Alcaraz decided to mark his skin with a design commemorating his success in the first Grand Slam of the year.
The world’s number one, at 22 years old, chose a kangaroo, an emblematic symbol of Australia, to adorn the lower front part of his left leg. The tattoo, done by Joaquín Ganga, a personal friend and tattoo artist of Alcaraz, is barely visible during matches because it is covered by the sock. The image shared on social media shows Alcaraz on the stretcher while Ganga works on the tattoo. The artist, with a studio in Los Angeles and El Palmar, made a space in his schedule to attend to Alcaraz. This new design joins other tattoos that celebrate Alcaraz’s achievements, including the date of his first US Open title, the Eiffel Tower and the date of his victory at Roland Garros, a strawberry for his Wimbledon triumph, the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge for his second US Open, and the three “C”s in reference to advice from his grandfather.
