Alcaraz Ascends to Number 2 in the ATP Ranking After Victory in Rome
Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz has climbed to second position in the ATP ranking, accumulating 8,850 points, just before defending his title at the prestigious Roland Garros. This rise comes after his victory in the final of the Rome Masters 1000, where he faced Italian Jannik Sinner, who currently holds first place with 10,380 points.
Alcaraz’s outstanding performance in Rome allowed him to surpass the German Alexander Zverev, who is now in third position with 7,285 points. This change is not the only one in the top-10 of the ranking, as the Italian Lorenzo Musetti has risen to eighth place, surpassing the Australian Álex de Miñaur.
In the ranking, American Taylor Fritz remains in fourth place, followed by Briton Jack Draper in fifth. Serbian Novak Djokovic occupies the sixth position, while Norwegian Casper Ruud is seventh and Dane Holger Rune is in tenth place.
Regarding the top one hundred rackets in the world, the Kazakh Alexander Bublik is the one experiencing the biggest rise, climbing 25 places to number 51, after his victory in Turin. On the other hand, the Chilean Alejandro Tabilo is the one who registers the biggest fall, dropping eighteen places to the 61st position.
