SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS – Águilas Cibaeñas outfielder Alberto Rodríguez, Rookie of the Year in the Dominican Baseball League, was forced to leave Monday’s game against the Gigantes del Cibao after being hit in the face by a throw from the outfield. The incident occurred while Rodriguez was heading to second base, receiving a hard hit that left him visibly affected. Medical staff and team members quickly came to assist him and help him leave the field, causing concern among those present at the Julian Javier stadium. According to reports, the blow hit between Rodríguez’s eye and cheekbone. After the impact, the player lost consciousness on several occasions.
