Alain Prost, Formula 1 legend, suffers assault in Switzerland
Former French racing driver Alain Prost, renowned for his brilliant career in Formula 1, was the victim of an assault at his residence located in Nyon, Switzerland. According to preliminary reports, the incident resulted in a minor head injury for the former champion.
The assault, perpetrated by a masked gang, occurred on Tuesday morning at Prost’s residence, located about 25 kilometers north of Geneva. Although the authorities have not officially revealed the identity of the victims, they confirmed that a family was attacked by several hooded individuals.
According to an official statement, the assailants entered the residence around 8:30 in the morning, threatened the occupants, and lightly struck one of the family members on the head. The exact circumstances of the attack are still under investigation.
After subduing the residents, the criminals forced a person to open a safe before escaping the scene. The total value of the stolen items has not yet been determined.
The police have launched a wide search operation in coordination with Swiss and French security forces, as well as border control units. In addition, psychological support has been offered to the affected family following the traumatic incident.
Alain Prost, 71 years old, is considered one of the most emblematic figures of Formula 1. During his career, he competed with teams like McLaren, Renault, Ferrari and Williams, managing to be crowned world champion in 1985, 1986, 1989 and 1993.
In the history of the highest category of motorsport, only Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton, both with seven championships, and Juan Manuel Fangio, with five, surpass the record of the legendary French driver.
