Doha. The awards ceremony for The Best 2025, organized by FIFA, took place in Doha, where the most outstanding footballers of the year were recognized.

Aitana Bonmatí and Ousmane Dembélé, the best of the year

Spanish midfielder Aitana Bonmatí and French forward Ousmane Dembélé were awarded the prestigious prize. Bonmatí, a player for FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team, made history by winning this award for the third consecutive time, solidifying her position as one of the most important figures in women’s football. At 27 years old, Bonmatí was fundamental in Barcelona maintaining its dominance in Spanish football and reaching the Champions League final. She also contributed to Spain’s runner-up finish in the European Championship. In the voting, Bonmatí surpassed her teammate Alexia Putellas and Mariona Caldentey, currently at Arsenal. In a recorded message, Bonmatí thanked for the recognition and congratulated the other award winners, appearing with a crutch due to a recent fibula fracture suffered with the Spanish national team.

Dembélé, the best in the men’s category

In the men’s category, Ousmane Dembélé, attacker for Paris Saint-Germain, was recognized with The Best award. This recognition comes after having previously been awarded the Ballon d’Or. Dembélé, 28 years old, surpassed Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal in the voting. His performance was key in PSG’s successful season, which won Ligue 1, the French Cup, the Champions League, and the European Super Cup.

Luis Enrique, the best coach

Luis Enrique Martínez, PSG coach, was named best men’s football coach. His leadership led the Parisian club to obtain its first Champions League title. Luis Enrique surpassed Hansi Flick and Arne Slot in the vote. Due to the preparation for the Intercontinental Cup final, Luis Enrique was unable to attend the gala. The award was received by his assistant, Rafel Pol.

The ideal eleven of the year

The ideal eleven of the year included three players from LaLiga española: Pedri González and Lamine Yamal, from Barcelona, and Jude Bellingham, from Real Madrid. PSG was the club with the most representation in this ideal team.
