Cibao Eagles shut out Licey Tigers in an exciting duel
In a memorable encounter held at the Cibao Stadium, the Águilas Cibaeñas achieved a resounding victory over the Tigres del Licey with a score of 4-0. The match, corresponding to the 2025-2026 autumn-winter baseball championship and dedicated to Juan Marichal, offered a display of talent on the mound by the Eagles.
A total of seven pitchers combined their efforts to keep the Tigers’ offense at bay, securing the shutout. Richard Rodríguez earned the victory (1-0), while Albert Abreu took the loss (0-1).
With this triumph, the Eagles tie the Tigers at the top of the table, both with a 3-1 record after four games played.
The imported lefty Charlie Barnes had an outstanding performance, pitching 4.0 scoreless innings. Barnes faced 15 batters, allowing 3 hits and striking out one.
