Abinader Honors Dominican MLB Stars in Christmas Meeting

Santo Domingo – The President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, led an emotional meeting with prominent Dominican baseball players from the Major Leagues in the Green Hall of the National Palace. The meeting, held this Friday, served as a recognition of the brilliant career of these athletes and the pride they represent for the nation. The initiative, spearheaded by the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kelvin Cruz, had the main objective of honoring the hard work and dedication of Dominican MLB players. With their talent, discipline, and commitment, these athletes have taken the name of the Dominican Republic to the top of international baseball. During the event, President Abinader interacted closely with the players, emphasizing their positive impact as ambassadors of the country and inspiring role models for Dominican youth.

Present Stellar Figures

Among the active Major League Baseball players who attended the Christmas gathering were figures such as Fernando Tatis Jr., Julio Rodríguez, Abner Uribe, Camilo Doval, Edward Cabrera, Gregory Soto, Ronel Blanco, Brayan Bello, Wandy Peralta, Seranthony Domínguez, Elian Soto, and Agustín Ramírez, among others. In addition, the event was attended by former players and legends of Dominican baseball, including Albert Pujols, soon to be inducted into the Cooperstown Hall of Fame and manager of the Dominican squad in the World Baseball Classic; Nelson Cruz, general manager of the tricolor team; Junior Noboa, National Baseball Commissioner; Amaurys Nina, Plácido Polanco and Joel Peralta.

Cruz highlighted President Abinader’s continued support for Dominican sports. He emphasized that these types of initiatives strengthen the bond between the State and athletes, serving as an incentive for present and future generations.
