Santo Domingo, DR. The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, will share a dinner with the players of the Dominican baseball team, prior to their participation in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
The meeting, scheduled for eight o’clock in the evening at a hotel in the capital, was confirmed by the press department of the Presidency.
The activity will take place after the national team finishes a practice session at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium, at four in the afternoon. Public access to this training will be allowed.
The Dominican selection is scheduled to arrive in the country on Monday morning, as part of its final preparation for the tournament.
In its preparation process, the team will play two warm-up games against the Detroit Tigers at the Quisqueya Stadium. The first game will be on Tuesday at seven in the evening, and the second, on Wednesday at three in the afternoon.
Subsequently, the team will travel to Miami, the venue for their group in the tournament. There they will continue their preparation before debuting on Friday at eight o’clock at night (Dominican time) against the Nicaraguan Baseball Team.
