Partial closure on Las Américas Highway due to infrastructure work
The Ministry of Public Works and Communications has notified drivers traveling on the Las Américas Highway about a series of scheduled partial closures for this weekend. These interventions are necessary to continue with the modernization and road safety efforts on this important Santo Domingo artery.

The measure specifically responds to the dismantling of the beams corresponding to the pedestrian bridge located at kilometer 12, following the same work scheme that was recently applied to the pedestrian bridge at kilometer 10. These actions are part of the road infrastructure improvement plan for the area.
Schedules and alternate routes
To minimize inconvenience to users, the authorities have established a nighttime schedule and detour routes:
- Schedule: Work will begin this Friday, August 21, at 10:00 p.m. and will extend until 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22.
- Dynamics: The closure will be carried out progressively in both directions of the expressway, maintaining fluid traffic as much as possible while maneuvers are executed.
- Alternative routes: Drivers are advised to use Avenida Ecológica and the Marginal de Las Américas as options for travel during the closure period.
