Tragedy has struck a Dominican family following the confirmation of the death of Emmanuel Contreras Medina, a 23-year-old young man who lost his life as a result of a violent assault that occurred in the Los Praditos sector, in the National District.
The incident took place on July 1st, when the victim traveled to that area with the intention of completing the purchase of a cell phone. According to the testimonies of those close to him, the young man had contacted the seller through Marketplace, Facebook’s digital commerce platform, without imagining that it was a trap.
An encounter that ended in tragedy
What was supposed to be a routine business transaction turned into an act of extreme violence. After being attacked by unknown individuals, Emmanuel suffered serious injuries that ended up costing him his life days after the event.
