Concord, N.C. – Shane van Gisbergen continues to demonstrate his dominance on the tracks, securing his fifth consecutive victory on road and street circuits at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This time, the competition was fierce, with Joey Logano securing a spot in the next round of NASCAR playoffs.

Logano Advances Amid Tension

The race was a real drama, especially for Logano, who was in a close fight with Ross Chastain. The tension remained high until the end, with Chastain risking his position in the competition. The situation intensified when Denny Hamlin and Chastain collided on the last lap, sending Chastain spinning. This incident allowed Logano to secure his pass to the next phase, leaving Hamlin visibly frustrated.

I didn’t know anything about what was happening on that last lap. I wish I had been aware to make a different decision.

After the race, the group was reduced from twelve to eight drivers. The focus was on Logano, who finally achieved his goal. Van Gisbergen also faced significant challenges, especially from Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell. However, he managed to maintain his lead position, securing the victory and eliminating the chances of Tyler Reddick, Bubba Wallace, and Austin Cindric.

We are still in the fight. We are alive, hooray!

Joey Logano
Logano, recalling the previous season, highlighted the excitement of the playoffs and the importance of staying in the competition. Chastain, for his part, regretted the mistakes made and the disappointment for his team.

Making unforced errors is terrible. It’s heartbreaking for nearly 200 Trackhouse employees. It’s not acceptable, simply unacceptable.

The eight drivers advancing to the third round of the playoffs are: Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano, Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson and William Byron, Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell and Chase Briscoe. Chastain, Cindric, Reddick, and Wallace were eliminated, ending the aspirations of the cars owned by Michael Jordan.
