Stewart Friesen Suffers Fractures After Race Accident
NASCAR Truck Series driver Stewart Friesen suffered fractures to his pelvis and leg after a serious accident during a race. The news was confirmed by his wife, who also reported that Friesen, fortunately, has no head, neck, or spine injuries. The incident occurred on Monday night at the Super DIRTcar Series King of the North race, held at the Autodrome Drummond in Drummondville, Quebec. According to Jessica Friesen’s social media post, her husband experienced “a tremendous amount of pain” after the crash.A scan revealed that there were no injuries to the head, neck, or spine. The accident video shows Stewart Friesen’s truck hitting an outside wall, flipping in the air, and then catching fire. The vehicle landed hard on the track and was hit by another truck before coming to a stop on its wheels. Jessica Friesen thanked the track team for their patience and care in removing her husband from the vehicle. Stewart Friesen is expected to be transferred to a hospital in New York on Wednesday, where he will undergo multiple surgeries, according to Jessica Friesen in an update on Tuesday.Stewart has suffered an unstable/open-book pelvic fracture, which means his pelvis is broken in two or more places, with a large hematoma in the area. Stewart also has a fracture in his right leg.
