Amidst the competition and adrenaline of the races, Tyler Reddick faced a personal challenge that tested his mettle. His wife recently revealed that their newborn son was diagnosed with a tumor in his chest, affecting his heart. The little one, born in May, has been dealing with serious health complications. The couple shared moving details before the race at The Roval circuit at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where Reddick started from the pole position, needing a victory to stay in the fight for the Cup Series title. The race was won by Shane van Gisbergen, which meant Reddick’s elimination from the playoffs. Reddick finished in tenth position. Alexa Reddick, Tyler’s wife, shared details about her son’s condition on social media. The tumor is “choking” the renal vein and artery, forcing the heart to work harder than normal. It’s causing an enlargement of the heart, and she will need to have a kidney removed because the doctors determined that it no longer works. The surgery to remove the right kidney still has no date, but the doctors hope the heart will fully recover. Despite the situation, the little one enjoys playing and interacting with the medical staff. Tyler Reddick had kept his son’s situation private until his wife decided to make it public. Before the race at Kansas Speedway, it was revealed that the little one was at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, showing signs of heart failure. Reddick commented on his son’s health in Charlotte. It’s improving, he has gained weight and many things are going well. However, there are still difficult times ahead. We have some obstacles to overcome. Reddick, who reached the championship final last year, was below the cut line for the drivers before Sunday’s race. After the race, the group was reduced from 12 to eight. The four eliminated drivers were Reddick, his teammate Bubba Wallace, Ross Chastain, and Austin Cindric. Reddick expressed that, given the circumstances, what happens in the racing world takes a back seat. Denny Hamlin, co-owner of Reddick’s car, stated that 23XI Racing has provided support and has been involved in obtaining the best medical care for Reddick’s son.

We have tried to do everything possible as a company to take advantage of all the resources we can, to get second and third opinions, everything necessary, to put you in contact with specialists.
