Michael Waltrip joins Nashville Kats ownership in the AF1

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Daytona 500 two-time champion Michael Waltrip joins the ownership group of the Nashville Kats, a founding franchise of Arena Football 1 (AF1). The announcement of Waltrip’s incorporation, along with his craft brewery Michael Waltrip Brewing, was made by the Kats on Friday. The ownership group already includes former NFL coach Jon Gruden and Jeff Fisher, former coach of the Los Angeles Rams and Tennessee Titans, as majority owner.

Now we have three living legends linked to the Nashville Kats: Jeff Fisher, Jon Gruden, and Michael Waltrip, all with the ultimate goal of winning championships and elevating AF1 to its maximum potential, along with any team associated with AF1.

Waltrip’s brewery becomes the official craft beer of the team. In addition, the team plans a fan zone called “Waltrip Winner’s Circle” for next season. The Kats face the Southwest Kansas Storm on Sunday in Clarksville in the AF1 semifinals.
