In a recent statement, Joey Logano reacted to the criticism from former baseball player Chipper Jones, following the incident at the Talladega race.

Jones, known for his career with the Atlanta Braves, criticized Logano after the NASCAR champion expressed his frustration with his teammate Austin Cindric during the race.

“Good teammates are hard to find, boss! Remember one of your own screwed you on national television, when in reality, you did everything you could to avoid hitting him.”

Logano, visibly upset on the team radio, questioned the help received from Cindric, which allowed Bubba Wallace to win the second stage.

Upon being informed about Jones’ comments, Logano responded with a direct question: “Has Chipper Jones ever driven a race car at Talladega?”

“Chipper Jones, seems like a great guy, has done a lot, right? He’s a pretty popular and good baseball player, but he’s not a race car driver, and I know he wasn’t in the room with us when we established the way things are supposed to go.”

Logano added that, as a professional athlete, Jones should understand that there is more to the situation than what is seen on television.

The driver also revealed that he and Cindric cleared the situation in a Penske team meeting on Monday.

Logano admitted that he shouldn’t have expressed his frustration over the radio that way.
