This triumph marks his return to the championship race since 2021 and consolidates him as the most successful driver for Joe Gibbs Racing and Toyota. The Virginia driver is tenth on the NASCAR wins list, tied with Kevin Harvick. Hamlin’s excitement after the race was palpable, especially after an intense battle in the last ten laps, where he overtook Kyle Larson and his teammate Chase Briscoe.

Hamlin revealed that this victory is a tribute to his 75-year-old father, who introduced him to the world of motorsports and unconditionally supported him throughout his career. Hamlin highlighted the financial sacrifices his father made so that he could continue competing, even selling possessions and facing economic difficulties. After the last pit stop, Hamlin, who started from fifth position, managed to overtake Joey Logano and Larson, to finally take the lead from Briscoe. Hamlin attributed part of the success to the adjustments made in the final pit stop, achieving his seventh victory of the season, the most since 2020. Joe Gibbs, moved by Hamlin’s dedication, expressed his empathy and recognition. In the competition, Larson finished in second place, followed by Christopher Bell and Briscoe. Tyler Reddick, also part of the top six, and Logano completed the top positions. William Byron, who had problems in the race, finished in 36th place after an incident with Ty Dillon. Ryan Blaney, who started the race in second position, suffered a setback by hitting the wall due to a tire issue, which affected his chances in the championship. The next NASCAR event will be held at the Talladega Superspeedway.
