Chase Briscoe Scores Pole at the Indianapolis 400

Chase Briscoe secured the first starting position for the Indianapolis 400, setting a new milestone in the NASCAR season. Briscoe achieved the pole position with a fast lap of 183.165 mph.

This achievement makes him the first driver to win the pole in all three NASCAR crown races in the same season.

His impressive performance displaced Bubba Wallace from the first position on the grid.

Briscoe, who also won the poles at the Daytona 500 and the Coca-Cola 600, will have the opportunity to complete the sweep of the crown races at the Southern 500 at the end of August.

This is Briscoe’s fifth pole of the season, who leads in this regard.

The classification was carried out after a brief rescheduled practice session, as Friday’s practice was affected by rain.

Bubba Wallace will start alongside Briscoe on the front row, after recording a lap of 183.117 mph. In addition, five Toyotas were in the top positions, marking the first time that the engine manufacturer has dominated the top five places.

Ty Gibbs, Briscoe’s teammate, is in a favorable position in the NASCAR In-Season Challenge championship, starting fifth on the grid with a speed of 182.445.

The winner of the challenge will take home a prize of $1 million.

On the other hand, Denny Hamlin, the winner of last week’s race, will face a significant challenge to win his first title in the Indianapolis 400. Hamlin suffered a hard crash during qualifying and will start from the back of the grid.

Kyle Larson, the defending race champion, will start in the 13th position.
