The race was marked by the controversial “Promoter’s Caution”, a tactic implemented to intensify the excitement. Marcus Smith, president and CEO of Speedway Motorsports, had the authority to decide when to deploy the yellow flag, which generated mixed reactions among the competitors.
Logano, who led the most laps (139), was affected by this decision, opting not to pit during the caution. Bell, on the other hand, took the opportunity to change tires, which allowed him to gain positions and ultimately overtake Logano on lap 241 of 250.
Ross Chastain, Alex Bowman, and Chase Elliott rounded out the top five.“I’m furious right now… We had the fastest car,” Logano expressed.
