Bryan Battle, Former “The Ultimate Fighter” Champion, Cut by UFC

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has decided to release fighter Bryan Battle from its roster, according to recent reports. The decision comes after two consecutive weight-cutting failures, a determining factor in his departure from the organization.

Battle, 30 years old and from North Carolina, was scheduled to face Nursulton Ruziboev at the UFC 319 event held last weekend in Chicago. However, the fight was canceled because Battle exceeded the weight limit for the middleweight category (186 pounds) by 4 pounds.

This failure was added to another one in December, showing the fighter’s difficulties in meeting the weight requirements.

Battle, who won the middleweight tournament in season 29 of “The Ultimate Fighter” in 2021, leaves the UFC with a record of 7-1. In addition to the aforementioned weight issues, he also registered an excess weight in his fight against Gabe Green in May 2023.
