Last Minute Change in the UFC Fight Night Main Event
An unexpected turn has modified the main event of UFC Fight Night, scheduled for Saturday at the Apex in Las Vegas. Flyweight contender Tatsuro Taira will face a new opponent: HyunSung Park, as announced this Monday.
Taira, who was originally scheduled to face Amir Albazi in a five-round bout, will see a change of opponent due to Albazi’s withdrawal for undisclosed reasons. Park, for his part, was scheduled to fight Steve Erceg on August 9, but will now compete a week earlier in the main event on Saturday.
Taira, ranked number 6 in the flyweight division, comes to this fight after the first loss of his career, a split decision against Brandon Royval in October.
Park, who entered the UFC in 2023, has demonstrated his power by finishing three consecutive opponents inside the octagon. His finishing streak extends to his last seven fights, since 2018.
