Last Minute Change in the UFC Fight Night Main Event

The main card of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night at the Apex in Las Vegas has undergone a last-minute modification. Flyweight contender Tatsuro Taira will face a new opponent, HyunSung Park, as announced this Monday.

Taira, ranked as the number 6 in the UFC flyweight division, was originally scheduled to face Amir Albazi in a five-round main event. However, Albazi was forced to withdraw for undisclosed reasons.

Park, who was scheduled to fight Steve Erceg on August 9, will now compete a week earlier, headlining the main event on Saturday.

Taira, coming from Japan, arrives at this fight after suffering the first defeat of his career, a split decision against Brandon Royval in October.

Park, for his part, entered the UFC in 2023 and has finished three consecutive opponents inside the octagon. In addition, he has accumulated seven consecutive victories with a finish, since 2018.
