Randy Couture Suffers Car Accident and is Hospitalized

Mixed martial arts legend Randy Couture was airlifted to a burn center in Kansas City after sustaining injuries in a car accident at a racetrack.

According to sources close to Couture, the incident occurred on Tuesday and the injuries are significant. The initial report indicates that Couture suffered first and second-degree burns, as well as trauma and smoke inhalation.

Couture is expected to recover, according to the same sources.

Couture, 62, planned to debut in the National Hot Rod Association this year. Known for his love of motorcycles, he had started the process to obtain a competition license.

As a former two-division UFC champion, Couture was inducted into the promotion’s Hall of Fame in 2006.

Couture remains involved in the world of fighting through Xtreme Couture, a professional gym he owns in Las Vegas, and as a commentator for the PFL.
