MIAMI – Paddy Pimblett, one of the most popular figures in the UFC, is one step away from fighting for the championship. With a TKO victory over Michael Chandler in the co-main event of UFC 314 at the Kaseya Center, Pimblett extended his record to 7-0 in the UFC.

The fight culminated at 3 minutes and 7 seconds of the third round, after Pimblett, after reaching the mount, delivered a series of elbows.

The decisive sequence began at the start of the assault, when Pimblett cut Chandler with a knee to the head.

This is how we win. We prepare a game plan, use our intelligence in combat, and hit opponents. Does anyone else have any questions?

Following the victory, Pimblett challenged former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira, as well as Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje, who were present at the event.

Anyone in the top four, top five. I want that world title. They said I would never be champion… I would never be ranked. I would never be in the top 10. And now? I won. Dustin, Justin, Charles, or Arman Tsarukyan, any of them.

Pimblett also expressed his respect for his potential rivals.

Respect to Dustin, Justin, and Charles. Charles is the greatest legend of all, and they call him the best submission artist the UFC has ever seen. But I dispute that. I’m here.

Paddy Pimblett, ahora con un récord de 7-0 en la UFC, declaró que quiere enfrentarse a un luchador del top cuatro o top cinco, mencionando a Charles Oliveira y Justin Gaethje como posibles oponentes.

Chandler, who is now 1-4 in his last five fights, secured four takedowns but couldn’t capitalize on them. He showed signs of fatigue as early as the second round, likely due to Pimblett’s effective body work. Chandler accumulated only 2:44 of control time, compared to Pimblett’s 4:41.
