Alex Pereira seeks rematch against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320
The former UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira, will face Magomed Ankalaev in a title fight at UFC 320, which will take place on October 4 in Las Vegas.
UFC CEO Dana White announced the rematch for the 205-pound title via social media on Tuesday. The UFC 320 pay-per-view event will be held at the T-Mobile Arena.
Pereira (12-3), former kickboxing champion in multiple weight categories and former UFC middleweight champion, became one of the biggest stars in the sport in 2024, but lost his belt by decision to Ankalaev (21-1-1) at UFC 313 in March.Magomed Ankalaev derrotó a Alex Pereira para ganar el campeonato de peso semipesado de la UFC en UFC 313 en Las Vegas. Ankalaev, from Dagestan, will likely be the favorite to beat him for the second time. The 33-year-old fighter is undefeated in his last 13 appearances.
In addition to the main event, White announced a bantamweight title fight between Merab Dvalishvili (20-4) and Cory Sandhagen (18-5) as the co-main event. Dvalishvili will seek his third title defense this year, adding victories over Umar Nurmagomedov and Sean O’Malley. Sandhagen will seek his first undisputed UFC championship. He lost to Petr Yan in an interim title fight in 2021.
Light heavyweight contenders Procházka (31-5-1) and Rountree (14-6) will also face off on the main card of UFC 320.
