Jorge Masvidal Wins Million-Dollar Legal Victory Against Fanmio

UFC veteran Jorge Masvidal has secured a significant legal victory. A Florida judge ruled in his favor, granting him a default judgment of over $5 million in his lawsuit against the online platform Fanmio. Judge Beatrice Butchko Sanchez approved Masvidal’s request, confirming the arbitrator’s ruling that awarded him $5,315,268.64, plus post-judgment interest related to his boxing match. Masvidal’s lawsuit, filed in January, focused on the agreement for his boxing match against Nate Diaz. Masvidal claimed that his contract included a $6 million purse, with an additional $1 million bonus if he won the fight. After losing by decision, he stated that he had only received a $150,000 advance and a $1 million payment.

The referee ruled in favor of Masvidal, and with the final approval, the matter has been resolved.

Although Masvidal’s case is resolved, Fanmio faces more legal disputes. Nate Diaz also sued Fanmio, claiming more than $9 million. An arbitrator awarded him $6 million, plus attorney’s fees, but this case is still awaiting final approval. In March, Fanmio filed a lawsuit against Golden Boy Promotions and Ryan Garcia, due to the cancellation of an exhibition fight with Rukiya Anpo.
