John Martin Takes the Helm of PFL as New CEO

The world of mixed martial arts welcomes a new leader. John Martin, renowned former CEO of Turner LLC and former CFO of Time Warner, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Professional Fighters League (PFL). In his new role, Martin will oversee all crucial aspects of the PFL, including strategy, management, operations, finance, and personnel. He takes on the role previously held by Peter Murray, who will now serve as CEO of PFL International and report directly to Martin.

My two biggest passions are leading media companies and MMA, so taking on the role of CEO of the PFL is truly a dream job for me.

Martin will bring vast experience to the helm of the PFL. Previously, he served as President and CEO of Turner LLC from 2014 to 2018. Before that, he was CFO of Time Warner Inc. He also served as CFO of Time Warner Cable, where he was an early proponent of the expansion of UFC cable distribution. Martin’s connection to mixed martial arts is personal. He began training in martial arts in his mid-twenties, earning a black belt in karate and a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
