Charles Oliveira vs. Rafael Fiziev Falls Off UFC Card
A lightweight main event between Charles Oliveira and Rafael Fiziev has been canceled for October 11th. The fight, which was scheduled to headline the UFC Fight Night in Rio de Janeiro, is off due to an injury to Fiziev.
Sources confirmed the news of Fiziev’s (13-4) injury. So far, UFC has not commented on the fighter’s injury or the search for a possible replacement for Oliveira.
Oliveira (35-11), 35 years old, was scheduled to compete in his home country, Brazil, for the first time since March 2020. He was looking to bounce back from a knockout loss to Ilia Topuria in June, in a fight for the vacant division title.
Fiziev, 32, was coming off a decision victory against Ignacio Bahamondes in June. Previously, he had lost by decision to Justin Gaethje in March.
